New Telemedicine Rules Give Flexibility to Hospitals, Providers

The article was featured in Michigan Medical Law Report, 7 M.L.R. 25 (Summer 2011).

In May 2011 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) revised the condition of participation requirements for hospitals or critical access hospitals (“CAHs”) utilizing telemedicine services. The purpose of the revision was to make the use of telemedicine a more practical option for hospitals and CAHs by easing credentialing and privileging requirements for providers rendering such services.
I wrote about these revised requirements for Michigan Medical Law Report. Here is the full article with permission from Michigan Lawyers Weekly/Michigan Medical Law Report.
